Everything you need to know about 'Threads'

Well, I guess you already know that there is something called THREADS🧵. Yes, after so much of waiting, it is finaly here. Threads has been officially launched on Wednesday on Play Store as well as App store . And it is absolutely FREE. We all can't wait to jump in this new social media app. Before that let's dig into this new viral application "Threads".

 As it is a new app there are so many questions about threads. 
Is threads just another feature of Instagram? Is 'THREADS copy of Twitter? What are different features of threads?

Threads: let's "knit"🧶 about it 😉

Threads is an application launched by Meta, a giant tech company that owned by Mark Zuckerberg. 

Threads is text/conversation based application with quite similar features with Tweeter. But tech nerds are calling it 'Tweeter-killer' app by Meta. Why?

Threads is built on the giant shoulder of the social media giant Instagram. It means that threads is created on the same user base of Instagram. And as we all know the user numbers of Inst is in billions. And you know what the results of these are? Let's look at it in a flow chart way..lol.. because this is such an event by event craziness due to Threads on Instagram release...

Big Update: Mr. Beast, an successful youtuber, has become the first ever person to reach 1 Million followers on Threads. Yes, even Zuckerberg is left behind him. 

How to get onto 'Threads'?

So first, you need to download Threads from free on Apple Store or Play Store. 

Then you can sign up into threads using your Instagram account. This means you need an Instagram account to sign up for Threads.

Here, after sign up you will get same username as your Instagram account. And believe me it's so easy, man! 

And this account is directly linked to your Instagram account, which is also helpful in many ways. 

How to use 'Threads' application?

So once you sign up into Threads. You can make text based post. 

You can also attach pictures and videos along with the text.

In the comments section one can reply by just using @ and then username. And the conversation begins. You can also see a line following all the conversations, which makes sense to the name of the new 'Tweeter rival' app.

One can also 'repost' a post, which is quite similar to 'retweet' feature of Tweeter. 

Difference between Tweeter and Threads.

→As Tweeter has it, but Threads does not have direct message or private message feature yet. This makes the thread more like an open conversation app. 

→Tweeter uses hashtags to spread the tweet or make it's stand out. But Threads doesn't have any such feature. Also there are no such thing as 'trending topics' in Threads which makes the new app competition-less platform.

But more or the less thread serves the same idea as tweeter. But of course in a better way. As new Tweeter CEO Mr. Musk has changed the way tweeter used to feel, people were already finding a better alternative. People are annoyed by the new Tweeter restrictions of tweet limits and hence Tweeter is more on the loosing side.

Salient features of Threads:

→This one definitely tops the best features especially for content creator. All your following and followers on Instagram are covered directly into Threads. No need to build the community from scratch. Also your links and verification tick is also carried forward to Threads. And it is very easy to share and switch to Instagram from Threads and vice versa. 

→This feature of thread is fantastic - you have control over the audience. You can choose who can reply to the post by making a choice whether it is open for public or only people you follow you can reply. You can also minimize the replies only to the people you have mentioned in the post... Isn't this amazing.

→If you think the above feature is great, then wait for another one. Trust me this one is the best (according to me). You get to stay away from all the nonsense using this feature. All you have to do is use 'hidden word' feature of Thread application. No posts that have the hidden words you've selected will be shown to you. Also no replies/comments o your post with the hidden words will be visible to the audience. In this way, you can choose to be hate free, and can express all your feelings without fearing the trolls. (Similar feature has also been added to Instagram)

→This one is a blessing if you ask me. THERE ARE NO ADS. Yes there are no ads in the new THREADS app of insta. But you never know when it will make its way to this baby app of Meta, till then enjoy the app peacefully. 🕊️ ✌🏻

Well, there's one thing that isn't great about Threads that you cannot edit any post. Tweeter has this feature and it can save you from loads of mistakes. But Threads hasn't launched this one currently. 

We hope that Meta will handle the new beast safely and as the consumers like it.
